HDS Retail Partners With Trofie Productions

HDS Retail North America is pleased to announce the appointment of Trofie Productions to negotiate and execute Book promotions in our US store network. Trofie is a sales promotions organization that creates innovative, high impact marketing programs that produce increased book sales through customer engagement and display placement.
Effective May 1, 2010, Trofie will undertake the negotiation of all US book promotions and advertisements on behalf of HDS. This will be incremental to all HDS promotions currently booked for placement between now and May 1, 2010, which will be honored by HDS.
Terry Kraml, Marketing and Advertising Manager for Trofie’s book division, will be the primary point of contact for booking all US HDS promotions as of May 1, 2010. Terry will work closely with HDS’ category managers to ensure a high level of compliance and performance.
Category management, including buying, quantity allocation, and assortment management, will remain the responsibility of the HDS Category Management Team: George Fewster, Category Manager of fiction, and Marijke McLean, Category Manager of nonfiction and children’s books.
HDS is very excited to work with advertising specialists with keen, on-the- ground knowledge of US sales trends and promotional opportunities. This partnership will use HDS’ excellent compliance and high-visibility promotional space to run effective promotions and increase book sales.
