The renewed 1,450 square foot store is located in the Center of the Concourse of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and boasts more than just a fresh coat of paint.
Open spaces and bright natural light flood the bookstore’s selection of bestselling and important backlist titles, plus 200 magazines. Each week, DNC’s Darryl Roth receives updated local bestseller lists from Book People owner, Steve Berco, whose famous downtown bookstore is a must-stop for residents and visitors to the Capital of Texas.
Capitalizing on the strength of the bookstore’s 9,000 weekly transactions, TROFIE's Director of Book Promotions, Terry Kraml, has lined up book promotions with local Austin events. From SXSW to Austin City Limits Music Festival and Texas Book Festival, there’s a category of books that fits the event. “Working with Darryl Roth who is critical in suggesting and executing Trofie’s promos, Book People has become book lovers go-to stop while at the airport. This isn’t your standard-issue airport bookstore. It has the vibe and energy of a world class bookstore in Paris, London or New York,” said Terry.
The bookstore has three 55” HD screens playing the TROFIE Network content from ReachTV and CBS, with book, magazine and other in-store product promotions. Banners, shelf talkers, floor decals, and life-sized standees are part of the mix that engage and motivate travelers to stop and buy.
